RAKS content -
What to expect?

RAKS means four full days of dancing, learning and sharing. RAKS means having a dance holiday and bootcamp all in one. RAKS means personal attention, limited class sizes and the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the dance with others who share your passion!
We-- the RAKS teachers-- bring our very best to the table, preparing a structured yet flexible schedule to provide a range of classes based on students' needs. Topics include everything from technique, props, choreography and stage presence, to different belly dance styles, rhythms and dance history. We keep the classes dynamic and update the schedule every year. And don't worry- it's not all work and no play! The RAKS experience includes fun (optional) extracurricular activities like makeup classes and a movie night.
RAKS classes are held in two different groups each day to ensure that there is plenty of room for individual attention. While you won't always be in the same group, rest assured that we have taken your skill level, goals, and self-assessment (for which we will email you a form after enrollment) in mind when creating the groups.
RAKS is aimed at Intermediate to Advanced level students, as well as professional dancers and those aspiring to become pro. Is RAKS right for you? If you've been attending classes consistently for at least two years, taking workshops, and training on a regular basis, then yes! If you don't mind hard work, stepping outside of your comfort zone, and having tons of fun in the process, then yes again!

Intermediate level students will gain finesse and confidence while adding variety to the skills they already have. They will take that important step from "doing moves" to dancing-beautifully! Advanced level students and professionals will be encouraged to work beyond their boundaries and towards their true potential as dancers. Technical improvement, versatility and presentation will be emphasized for all.
